Rear & Mid Mufflers
The rear muffler determines the sound and the shape of the exhaust tip. It offers the best balance between what you spend and what you hear.
What it changes
With the same diameter, it is the body volume and the baffle type that distinguish a deep growl from an unpleasant resonance. Changing only the rear muffler is enough to transform the car's voice without touching the rest of the exhaust system, the electronics, or the emissions-control system.
Highway drone
This is the most common regret after an exhaust upgrade: a drone at 2,500 rpm, exactly at cruising speed. It almost always comes from removing the center muffler. If the car is driven on the highway, keep it - or replace it with a sport center muffler rather than a pipe.
Single, dual, duplex
A single outlet remains discreet. A dual outlet on the same side is the usual compromise. A duplex exits on both sides and requires a suitable bumper: check the cutouts before ordering, as a crooked outlet is immediately noticeable.
