Overview

Ridetech's HQ ShockWave Air Suspension for the Ford Mustang 79-04 bolts in just like a rear coilover, swapping out the coil-spring for an adjustable air spring and opening up a wide range of ride height and stance options. Like the front kit, these rear HQ ShockWaves share the same coilover-style, shock-within-a-spring construction as the TQ Series, packaged into a more affordable single rebound-adjustable setup.

A 24 position rebound adjustment knob on each shock body lets you tune the rear ride from a smooth, comfortable cruise to a firmer, more planted feel under hard acceleration or in the corners.

These rear HQ Series ShockWaves share the same air springs and core hardware as the TQ Series, including 1.834" pistons, 5/8" hardened shafts, impact-forged anodized bodies, and Ridetech's 1,000,001 mile warranty. Where they part ways is damping control: HQ skips the TQ's remote reservoir, which is what unlocks separate high speed and low speed compression tuning. For most daily drivers, weekend cruisers, and show cars, the rear HQ setup delivers the stance and ride quality you're after. If you're chasing serious track performance or want to fine-tune handling balance front to rear, the TQ Series is the better fit.
