Roll Cages & Roadster Roll Cages
A roll bar serves two purposes, and they have nothing to do with each other: protecting occupants in the event of a rollover, and stiffening the body - spectacularly so on a convertible, which has lost its roof and therefore a significant part of its rigidity.
What it changes behind the wheel
On a convertible or roadster, the difference is noticeable from the first bump: less shaking through the windscreen, a front axle that stays aligned with the rear, and doors that stop creaking. A bolt-in roll bar mounted between the rear suspension points does more for rigidity than a brace under the floor.
Road use and track use
The roll bars in this range are styling and stiffening roll bars, designed for road use and open track days. A timed competition held under a license requires a roll bar approved by the federation, along with its certification sheet: it is not the same part, and we say so rather than letting you discover it during the paddock technical inspection.
Installation
Quality hardware, load-spreading plates under the floor, and a check of the tightening torque after a few hundred miles. A roll bar bolted to sheet metal alone will tear the sheet metal.
