Big Brake Kits
A big brake kit replaces the original calipers and discs with a larger-diameter set featuring more pistons. The point is not to brake harder - your tires already set that limit - but to brake just as hard on the twentieth stop as on the first. It comes down to cast-iron mass and pad surface area, and therefore resistance to heat buildup.
Four ways to achieve this
The complete kit is the simple option: calipers, discs, brackets, and lines designed to work together. The adaptation kit is the budget option: you buy used Brembo calipers from another model, and the kit provides brackets to the correct dimensions. The dual rear caliper is not intended to increase power, but to add a second caliper dedicated to the hydraulic handbrake. And calipers sold separately let you put together your own setup.
Two measurements to take before ordering
First, the minimum wheel diameter: fitting 330 mm brakes under 16-inch wheels will not work, and you discover that only after opening the package. Next, the disc diameter, since the pads and brackets are sized accordingly. Both are listed on every product page.
