Brake Bleeders & Tools
The small parts without which a new circuit cannot be completed.
Bleeder screws
A stainless steel bleeder screw will not seize in the caliper or have its head break off during the next removal - something that regularly happens with corroded original steel screws. Check the caliper thread (10x100 and 10x125 are the most common) and always position the bleeder screw at the caliper's highest point; otherwise, air will remain trapped there.
“Line lock” valve
A quarter-turn valve isolates part of the circuit: it is used to lock a line, typically for a standing start or to immobilize the car without a mechanical handbrake.
Dash wrenches
An AN fitting tightens onto flats made of soft aluminum. An ordinary open-ended wrench rounds them off on the first tightening; a Dash wrench fits the flat across its entire height and leaves no marks.
