Camber Adjustment
When you lower a car, the camber automatically becomes negative: the wheels tilt inward. A little is good for grip. Too much, and the tire wears through its inner sidewall within 10,000 km.
What it does
These parts bring the camber back within the desired range, or allow you to deliberately add negative camber for cornering grip. On a car lowered by more than 40 mm, they are rarely a luxury: they are what separates a front end that holds the road from one that wears out its tires.
Three types
Adjustment plates shift the anchor point, often at the rear; eccentric bolts replace the original hardware and provide a fine adjustment range; adjustable arms replace the original arm and offer the greatest latitude, for camber and sometimes caster.
After installation
Wheel alignment is mandatory: these parts are useless without measurement. Include the adjustment in your budget.
