BBS states the weight of each unloaded wheel, something few manufacturers publish. This is useful information: the wheel is part of the vehicle's unsprung mass, which the dampers must control over every road imperfection. A lighter wheel is easier to control, and also reduces inertia during acceleration and braking.

As a reference, an 18-inch alloy wheel commonly weighs between 10 and 13 kg, depending on its width and design. The tyre's weight is added to this figure.

Fitting, hardware and centering rings

With BBS, the mounting kit — hardware and centering rings — is supplied with the purchase of a set of 4 wheels. An order of 1, 2 or 3 wheels is supplied bare. BBS hardware is only supplied if your vehicle's original hardware is not compatible, and centering rings only if required: specify your vehicle when ordering and we'll determine what you need.

This wheel uses 60° conical hardware, standard on almost all alloy wheels. Need individual hardware or specific parts? See our lug nut packs and our wheel bolt packs, or ask us for advice.
