BBS states the weight of each bare wheel, something few manufacturers publish. This is useful information: the wheel is part of the vehicle's unsprung weight, which the dampers must control over every road irregularity. A lighter wheel is easier to control and also reduces inertia during acceleration and braking.

As a reference, an 18-inch alloy wheel commonly weighs between 10 and 13 kg depending on its width and design. The tire's weight is added to this value.

Fitting, hardware and rings

With BBS, the fitting kit — hardware and centering rings — is supplied with the purchase of a set of 4 wheels. An order for 1, 2 or 3 wheels is supplied bare. BBS hardware is supplied only if your vehicle's original hardware is not compatible, and centering rings only if they are necessary: specify your vehicle when ordering, and we will determine what you need.
