BBS states the weight of each bare wheel, something few manufacturers publish. This is useful information: the wheel is part of the vehicle's unsprung mass, which the dampers must control over every road imperfection. A lighter wheel is easier to control and also reduces inertia during acceleration and braking.

As a reference, an 18-inch alloy wheel commonly weighs between 10 and 13 kg, depending on its width and design. The tire's weight is added to this figure.

Installation, hardware and hub-centric rings

With BBS, the installation kit — hardware and hub-centric rings — is included when purchasing a set of 4 wheels. An order of 1, 2, or 3 wheels is supplied bare. BBS hardware is supplied only if your vehicle's original hardware is not compatible, and hub-centric rings only if they are necessary: specify your vehicle when ordering, and we will determine what you need.
