What this part changes

The original bushing is made of rubber: it filters impacts well, but deforms under load. When cornering or braking, the arm moves by a few millimeters and the geometry changes during the maneuver - this is the slack between the steering wheel and the wheels.

Polyurethane deforms much less: the connection becomes precise and repeatable, and the car responds at the same point every time. The trade-off is more road noise and vibration in the cabin, especially when cold.

What to plan for

  • Install with lubricant made for PU or silicone - never use mineral grease, as it damages polyurethane.
  • Tighten to the specified torque with the wheels on the ground.
  • On a family car, start with the front stabilizer bar before converting everything to PU.
