What this part changes

The brace connects the two shock absorber mounts. In a hard corner, the loaded suspension side pushes outward and the geometry deteriorates precisely when it is needed most: the brace distributes the load between both sides.

The front end responds more precisely when turning in, and the car maintains the same response from one corner to the next. The effect is noticeable on older chassis, convertibles, and high-mileage cars; it is more subtle on an already rigid modern body.

What to plan for

  • Check the clearance under the hood: engine covers, hoses, and the filter housing do not always leave room for the brace.
  • A brace should only be fitted to sound mounts: stiffening between two points that move achieves nothing.
