What this part changes

The brace connects the two strut mounts. In a hard corner, the loaded suspension tower pushes outward and the geometry deteriorates precisely when you need it most: the brace distributes the load between both sides.

The front end feels more precise when turning in, and the car maintains the same response from one corner to the next. The effect is noticeable on older chassis, convertibles and high-mileage cars; it is more subtle on a modern, already rigid body.

What to plan for

  • Check the clearance under the bonnet: engine covers, hoses and the air filter housing do not always leave room for the brace.
  • A brace should only be installed on sound strut mounts: stiffening between two moving points achieves nothing.
