What this part changes

The brace connects the two strut towers. During hard cornering, the loaded suspension strut pushes outward and the geometry deteriorates at the precise moment when it is needed most: the brace distributes the load between both sides.

The front end feels more precise when turning in, and the car maintains the same response from one corner to the next. The effect is clear on older chassis, convertibles, and high-mileage cars; it is more subtle on a modern body that is already rigid.

What to plan for

  • Check the clearance under the hood: engine covers, hoses, and the air filter housing do not always leave room for the brace.
  • A brace should only be installed on sound strut towers: reinforcing between two points that move achieves nothing.
