As for bump stops: on a lowered car, the shock absorber makes contact far more often. A shorter, progressive bump stop restores usable travel; removing it destroys the shock absorber within a few thousand kilometers.

What you need to plan for

  • Never improvise a spring compressor with clamps.
  • On a coilover, adjust the height using the designated hook wrench, never a chisel.
