The lip is the flat section that separates the edge of the wheel from the start of the spokes. It gives a wheel its deep-dish effect, and it is the key aesthetic factor in this type of design: the more pronounced it is, the deeper the wheel looks once mounted.

Rotiform publishes this measurement, making it possible to compare two references more accurately than by eye alone. At the same size, a deeper lip generally means a lower offset: check clearance under the fender.
