Double Rear Caliper for Hydraulic Handbrake
A dual rear caliper adds a second caliper to each rear wheel, dedicated to the hydraulic handbrake. The original caliper keeps the service braking function, while the second is only used for locking: you retain fully functional road brakes and a handbrake that locks firmly, without heating the main circuit.
Bolt-on or weld-on?
This is the first question to settle. The bolt-on bracket attaches to the existing mounting points on the steering knuckle: reversible, removable, and without affecting a technical inspection. The weld-on bracket can be positioned freely, so it accommodates caliper combinations that the bolt-on version cannot, but the modification is permanent and requires a competent welder working on a safety-critical component.
What to check before ordering
The bracket is designed for a specific caliper and a specific disc diameter. Note the reference of the caliper you plan to install, and check the clearance behind your wheels: an additional caliper takes up space where there was none before.
