Brake Pads for Big Brake Kits
The pads are the wear component of your big brake kit, and the part that changes its behavior the most. The compound matters more than the brand.
Choosing your compound
A street compound bites from cold on the very first brake application, which is essential for daily driving. A track compound needs to reach operating temperature to perform at its best and remains mediocre while cold: fitted to a daily driver, it brakes less effectively than an OEM pad. Mid-range compounds, such as DS2500 or RC6, cover mixed use.
Front / rear and diameter
Pads must be selected by axle AND by kit diameter. A set intended for a 330 mm front kit will not fit a 286 mm rear kit. Check both.
