This is useful information: the wheel is part of the vehicle's unsprung mass, which the shock absorbers must control over every bump in the road. A lighter wheel is easier to control and also reduces inertia during acceleration and braking.

For reference, an 18-inch aluminum wheel commonly weighs between 10 and 13 kg, depending on its width and design. The tire's weight is added to this figure.

Mounting, hardware and rings

With BBS, the mounting kit — hardware and centering rings — is included when you purchase a set of 4 wheels. Orders of 1, 2 or 3 wheels are supplied bare. BBS hardware is supplied only if your vehicle's original hardware is incompatible, and centering rings only if needed: specify your vehicle when ordering, and we'll determine what you need.
