It's useful information: the wheel is part of the vehicle's unsprung mass, which the shock absorbers must control over every road imperfection. A lighter wheel is easier to control and also reduces inertia during acceleration and braking.

For reference, an 18-inch alloy wheel commonly weighs between 10 and 13 kg, depending on its width and design. The tire's weight is added to this figure.

Mounting, hardware, and centering rings

At BBS, the mounting kit — bolts and centering rings — is included with the purchase of a set of 4 wheels. Orders for 1, 2, or 3 wheels are supplied without hardware. BBS hardware is only included if your vehicle's original hardware is incompatible, and centering rings only if needed: specify your vehicle when ordering, and we'll determine what you need.
