BBS publishes the weight of each bare wheel, something few manufacturers do. It's useful information: the wheel is part of the vehicle's unsprung mass, which the shock absorbers have to control over every bump in the road. A lighter wheel is easier to control and also reduces rotational inertia during acceleration and braking.

For reference, an 18-inch alloy wheel commonly weighs between 10 and 13 kg, depending on its width and design. The tire's weight is added to this.

Installation, wheel bolts and centering rings

For purchases of a set of 4 wheels, BBS includes the mounting kit — wheel bolts and centering rings. Orders of 1, 2 or 3 wheels are delivered without them. BBS wheel bolts are included only if your vehicle's original ones are incompatible, and centering rings only if needed: specify your vehicle when ordering, and we'll work out what you need.
