It's useful information: the wheel is part of the vehicle's unsprung mass, which the shock absorbers must control over every bump in the road. A lighter wheel is easier to control and also reduces inertia during acceleration and braking.

For reference, an 18-inch alloy wheel typically weighs between 10 and 13 kg, depending on its width and design. The tire's weight is added to this figure.

Mounting, hardware and centering rings

With BBS, the mounting kit — hardware and centering rings — is included with the purchase of a set of 4 wheels. Orders of 1, 2 or 3 wheels are supplied without them. BBS hardware is only included if your vehicle's original hardware is not compatible, and centering rings only if needed: tell us your vehicle when ordering, and we'll work out what you need.
