BBS states the weight of each unloaded wheel, something few manufacturers publish. This is useful information: the wheel is part of the vehicle's unsprung mass, which the dampers must control over every road imperfection. A lighter wheel is easier to control and also reduces inertia during acceleration and braking.

As a reference, an 18-inch alloy wheel commonly weighs between 10 and 13 kg, depending on its width and design. The tire's weight is added to this figure.

Fitting, hardware and rings

With BBS, the fitting kit — hardware and centering rings — is included with the purchase of a set of 4 wheels. An order of 1, 2 or 3 wheels is delivered without hardware. BBS hardware is supplied only if your vehicle's original hardware is not compatible, and centering rings only if necessary: specify your vehicle when ordering and we will determine what you need.
