Installation tips

Dedicated 40A fuse

One 40A fuse per compressor, mandatory. No more, no less — a different rating may damage the compressor or create an electrical hazard.

Dry & ventilated area

Install the compressor in an area protected from water and excessive heat. Ensure sufficient fresh-air intake to prevent overheating.

Battery in good condition

The starting current is high. A weak or partially charged battery can damage the compressor coil. Do not cut corners here.

Solid electrical ground

Check the quality and connection of the ground. A poor ground = voltage drop = reduced performance and risk of premature failure.

Multiple compressors in parallel: if you install a dual-compressor configuration, each compressor must have its own independent 40A fuse. Do not connect them to the same fuse.

The compressor gets hot during operation — do not touch it during or immediately after use. Do not allow it to come into contact with plastics or heat-sensitive materials in the trunk.

Dry rotor = zero maintenance: no oil, oil changes, or lubrication required. Just make sure the air filter (if included in your kit) is clean to maintain optimal airflow.

What is the difference between the comp1 EVO black and the comp1 EVO noir?
Both compressors have exactly the same technical specifications (12V, 100% duty cycle, 1.76 CFM, 200 PSI max.). The only difference is the finish: matte black for this version and shiny chrome for the other. The choice depends on your build—black for discreet installations or enclosed trunks, chrome for showcase builds.
Can two comp1 EVO compressors run in parallel?
Yes, this is a common configuration to increase flow rate or reduce response time. In this case, each compressor must have its own dedicated 40A fuse—never connect both to the same fuse. It is also recommended to use one relay per compressor to protect the electrical circuit.
Does a 100% duty cycle mean that the compressor can run continuously?
The 100% duty cycle at 100 PSI means it can run continuously without pausing at this working pressure. Above 100 PSI (up to a maximum of 200 PSI), rest periods are recommended to prevent overheating. In typical air ride use, pressure rarely exceeds 150 PSI, so the comp1 is more than capable.
Is a special controller required to start the compressor?
The compressor is controlled via a 40A relay (not included). Start/stop control is generally handled by a pressure switch (which automatically starts the compressor when the tank pressure drops below a set threshold) or manually via a switch, depending on your air management setup. If you have an e-Level+ AccuAir or Air Lift 3H/3P system, the compressor is controlled automatically by the ECU.
