What this part changes
The brace connects the two shock absorber mounts. In hard cornering, the loaded suspension strut pushes outward and the geometry deteriorates precisely when you need it most: the brace distributes the load between both sides.
The front end becomes more precise when turning in, and the car maintains the same response from one corner to the next. The effect is noticeable on older chassis, convertibles, and high-mileage cars; more subtle on a modern body that is already rigid.
What to plan for
- Check the clearance under the hood: engine covers, hoses, and the air filter housing do not always accommodate the brace.
- A brace should only be installed on sound strut mounts: stiffening between two moving points achieves nothing.
