What this part changes
The brace connects the two shock absorber top mounts. In hard cornering, the loaded side of the suspension pushes outward and the geometry deteriorates precisely when it is needed most: the brace distributes the load between both sides.
The front end feels more precise on turn-in, and the car maintains the same response from one corner to the next. The effect is noticeable on older chassis, convertibles, and high-mileage cars; it is subtler on an already rigid modern body.
What to plan for
- Check the clearance under the hood: engine covers, hoses, and the air filter housing do not always accommodate the brace.
- A brace should only be installed on sound top mounts: stiffening two points that are moving achieves nothing.
