What this part changes
The brace connects the two strut mounts. In a hard corner, the loaded suspension side pushes outward and the geometry deteriorates at precisely the moment you need it most: the brace distributes the load between both sides.
The front end feels more precise when turning in, and the car maintains the same response from one corner to the next. The effect is clear on older chassis, convertibles and high-mileage cars; less noticeable on a modern, already rigid body.
What to plan for
- Check the clearance under the hood: engine covers, hoses and the filter housing do not always accommodate the brace.
- A brace should only be fitted to sound strut mounts: stiffening between two points that move achieves nothing.
