What this part changes

The link connects the stabilizer bar to the suspension arm: it transmits the anti-roll force. Its ball joints are constantly exposed to water, salt, and brake dust.

The metallic rattling noise at low speed on rough roads is caused by these parts nine times out of ten - long before the shock absorbers that usually get the blame.

What to plan for

  • Always replace them as a pair: a new link paired with a worn one will quickly wear out.
  • On a lowered car, the working angle changes: a shorter or adjustable link puts the bar back in its proper plane.
