The lip is the flat section that separates the wheel's outer edge from the beginning of the spokes. It gives a wheel its deep-dish effect, and is the main aesthetic criterion for this type of design: the more pronounced it is, the deeper the wheel appears once fitted.

Rotiform publishes this measurement, making it possible to compare two references more accurately than by eye. At the same size, a deeper lip generally means a lower offset: check clearance under the fender.
