What this part changes

The link connects the stabilizer bar to the suspension arm: it transfers the anti-roll force. Its ball joints work continuously and are exposed to water, salt and brake dust.

The metallic rattling noise at low speed on rough roads is caused by these parts nine times out of ten - well before the shock absorbers that usually get the blame.

What to plan for

Always replace them as a pair: a new link fitted opposite a worn one will wear out quickly.
On a lowered car, the operating angle changes: a shorter or adjustable link returns the bar to its proper position.
